Creating equipment evaluations

Create records to represent potential new equipment that will be evaluated as possible replacements for existing equipment.

To create equipment evaluations:

  1. Open Equipment Evaluations form.
  2. Click New Record.
  3. Organization—Enter the organization. The system automatically populates the currencies for Estimated Cost of Labor, Estimated Salvage, Cost of CO2e, Annual PM Cost, Annual Non-PM Cost, and Annual CO2e Emissions.
  4. Enter a description for the equipment evaluation. The system automatically populates Equipment Evaluation.
  5. Evaluation Status—Select an evaluation status for the equipment.
  6. Potential Manufacturer—Enter a manufacturer for the potential equipment.
  7. Potential Model Number—Enter a model number for the potential equipment.
  8. Estimated Cost of Materials—Enter the estimated cost of materials for the potential equipment.
  9. Estimated Cost of Labor—Enter the estimated cost of labor for the potential equipment.
  10. Estimated Salvage—Enter the estimated salvage of the potential equipment.
  11. Cost of CO2e—Enter the estimated cost of the carbon dioxide emissions equivalency.
  12. Annual PM Cost—Enter the annual preventive maintenance cost for the potential equipment.
  13. Annual Non-PM Cost—Enter the annual non-preventive maintenance cost for the potential equipment.
  14. Annual CO2e Emissions—Enter a value for annual CO2e emissions.
  15. Major Group—Enter the major group for the capital planning request.
  16. Group—Enter the group for which the capital request must be appropriated.
  17. Individual—Enter the individual element for the capital request.
  18. Priority—Select the priority level of the capital planning request for the equipment evaluation.
  19. Additional Information—Enter any additional information for the capital planning request.
  20. Commodity-1—Select a commodity. The system automatically populates Commodity-1 UOM.
    Note:  If Commodity-1 is blank, the system protects Design Consumption Rate-1 and Design Usage UOM-1.

    Once Commodity-1 is populated, the system enables Design Consumption Rate-1 and Design Usage UOM-1 .

  21. Design Consumption Rate-1—Enter a design consumption rate. The system automatically populates Design Consumption Rate UOM.
  22. Design Usage UOM-1—Select a unit of measure.
  23. Manufacturer—Select a manufacturer.
  24. Model Number—Enter a model number for the equipment.
  25. Class—Select a class.
  26. Category—Select a category.
  27. Equipment Type—Select an equipment type.
  28. Equipment Status—Select an equipment status.
  29. GAS Tracked—Select if the equipment is GAS tracked.
  30. Include Out of Service Equipment—Select if the equipment evaluation will include out of service equipment.
  31. Click Save Record.
    Note: To populate the equipment list with equipment matching the search criteria, click Create/Refresh Equipment List. The system deletes records from the Equipment Equivalency page with Status of Not Evaluated, and then refreshes the equipment list.
