Associating custom fields with classes

Define custom field records or select existing custom fields and associate them with a selected class.

Note: The Custom Fields page on the Classes and Custom Fields form is available only in Infor EAM Business Edition.

To define associate custom fields with classes:

  1. Open the Classes and Custom Fields form.
  2. Select the class for which to associate custom fields, and then click the Custom Fields tab.
  3. Choose one of the following options:
    • Add New Custom Field—Click to add a new custom field to associate with a selected class.
    • Add Existing Custom Field—Click to associate an existing custom field with a selected class. The system automatically displays a list of values for the custom field. Select a value, and the system displays the Custom Fields page and automatically populates Custom Field, custom field description, and Type.
  4. Custom Field—Enter a code for the new custom field, and then enter a description in the adjacent field.
  5. Line—Enter a value for the line.
  6. Type—Select a type for the custom field.
  7. Print on Work Order Report—Select to print the custom field on the work order report.
  8. Enforce Lookup Validation—Select to require lookup validation for the custom field.
  9. Minimum Value—Enter the minimum value required for the custom field.
  10. Maximum Value—Enter the maximum value allowed for the custom field.
  11. Enable Lookup—Select to enable lookup for the custom field.
  12. Click Submit.
